The Seasons of Farm Life

Life on the farm shifts with the seasons and with whatever the weather decides to throw at us. There’s always something needing done — from preparing the fields for planting and shearing the sheep, to tupping in late spring and calving in early summer. Then come the long, busy days of harvest through the summer months, followed by lambing in September, while the everyday jobs carry on regardless: collecting eggs, feeding and moving the chickens and pigs, and tending to all the little tasks in between. No two days are ever quite the same. The routine can feel familiar, yet it’s always full of small surprises. It’s not just a job — it’s a way of life, shaped by the land, the animals, and the changing seasons.
